Hilton Molino Stucky, Venice is a huge and lovely hotel with great service and a peaceful location

imageimageimageThe Hilton chain wasn’t really on my radar for the longest time, not until I fell in love with the Conrad in NYC. I have to say, that the Conrad Condado which is now a Hilton in San Juan , Puerto Rico is an excellent choice for a weekend getaway also. Well Hilton, you’ve got a big winner in the Molino Stuckey in Guidecca, Venice.

The thrill starts from first viewingof the Molino Stuckey, it’s huge and just gorgeous. The long narrow island called Giudecca sits right across the Grand Canal, a 5 minute boat ride away. If you are going to be in venice for even a few days it makes sense to stay here because not only is it beautiful, but it’s also peaceful. Venice is 80% tourists, so it can feel hectic if you can’t escape from the crowds. The Molono takes it’s name from a famous Mogul whose photograph is displayed proudly.  An old factory that has been painstakingly refurbished. It feels more like a resort than a hotel, with it’s many restaurants and bars.

The rooms are simply decorated in a manner similar to a Four Seasons, but the exposed beams, high ceilings,  old factory styled windows, and murano glass chandeliers
